Your adventure thus far at REW?

Thats a loaded question.Working at REW has been a wild ride, completely different from anything I’ve done before. There’s the great, the somewhat different, and the oh my , but the best part? The people. From agents sending heartfelt thank-you messages, inviting me for coffee , wine, or park playdates with their grandkids, to letting me spend a day with their dogs (because I miss mine. it’s moments like these that make it all worthwhile. Connection, community, and a little bit of adventure every day.

But what I actually do is

As an Account Manager, at REW, I wear many hats, sometimes all at once. I’m part talent whisperer, part business coach, part cheerleader, part physiologist, , and part unofficial concierge. Daily I am scouting brokerages and the streets to find prospects who’d thrive with our amazing brand, to coaching top agents and helping them grow, I’m here to make success happen. I get to know their business, their goals, their kids’ names, and yes, even where to find the best tacos, hair salons, and spas in town. Selling homes faster is the goal, making the journey unforgettable (and a little more fun) is my superpower.

Biggest real estate adventure?

I bought my very first house back in the glory days of 1984 in Mission for a mere $249,000, what a steal, right? Well, until you factor in the small detail that I was paying a heart-stopping 13% interest. Yep, basically handing the bank a small yacht every year. My agent was Mindy McPherson lol

Then, in a burst of “this’ll be a smart move!” optimism, we decided to sell, splurge a little, and upgrade to a brand-new house in Mission. Only $100,000 more, plus the bonus of being closer to the hockey rink and in a cul-de-sac so I could roll out of bed and haul my son to practice at 4:30 am in the morning. Sounds dreamy, until the 15% interest bill came in.

Fast-forward to leaving the small-town life behind—we headed straight to the bright lights of Yaletown. We rented, because at that point a “beautiful” home was going for around $600,000 with interest rates still hanging out around 10%. But I socked away my pennies and eventually bought a place in South Granville for about the same price, except this time the interest rate was a luxurious 6%. Practically free!

From there, rates went down, then up, then down, then up, up, up we went, kind of like a rollercoaster, but without the fun screaming and cotton candy at the end

Biggest adventure, period?

Life is Always an Adventure.
