What we believe: #1 Simon Bray.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

There are certain core values that make us, us. They help to form the principles that guide everything we do: our True North. More than that, though, they are what we believe would guide any organization to be the kind of place where people would love to work. And you can’t really ask for much more than that.

People
over
profits.

What drives me to get up every day? What pushes me to work hard to build a business? I often find myself reflecting on these questions, on what drives others in their own quests to make an impact. To leave their mark.

It certainly isn’t just for the money.

In my mind, revenues and profits are an important indicator of progress (others may say a “measure of success”). And while it's true that these are barometers of a system's effectiveness and efficiency at achieving specific objectives, viewing monetary output as the primary goal is to miss the point. To invert the picture.

It’s like each of us building our self-image by looking in a mirror, believing that how we see ourselves is how the rest of the world sees us. Of course, the truth is that everyone else sees precisely the opposite image of what we do.

A “business” is only ever the aggregate of the people who build it.  From shareholders to employees, each forms a part of the story, and each has a role to play within it. Play those well and the business will thrive, supporting all who rely on it.

Instead of looking at a business as an opportunity for a group of people to build up a profit, I see it as an opportunity for the profits we earn to help us build a better, bigger and more dynamic team of people - and to support their personal projects and passions too.

REW is that kind of business. One that puts People over Profits. Not because we don't want to make money, but because we know why we want to make money.

Profitably yours,

Simon
